PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) is a three-step procedure. The first step involves having your blood drawn from your arm. Second, your blood is then put into a centrifuge that separates your blood into layers. The top layer is platelet rich fibrins and the second layer is red blood cells. Platelet-rich fibrin is rich in platelets, fibrins and interleukins. These cells are the healers of the skin and produce new skin more rapidly and effectively than platelets alone. The PRF is taken off the top, put into a syringe, and injected into areas of the scalp that need increased hair growth.
