How to Get and Keep the Eyebrows You Have Always Wanted: Microblading at Nicole Norris MD Medical Spa!
One of the hottest cosmetic procedures in the United States right now, microblading began trending 25 years ago in Asia as “eyebrow embroidery” or “feathering.” Offering no-maintenance results, the procedure can make rolling out of bed with perfect brows a reality day-after-day… and for many, year-after-year!
What is Microblading?
A small set of needles called a microblade is dipped into a pigment and used to make a fine cut, or microstroke, in the skin. This micropigmentation, when implemented correctly, produces beautiful, full, natural looking eyebrows.
Although similar to a tattoo or permanent makeup, microblading is markedly different. The pigment used has an iron oxide base, and it is not implanted as deeply as tattoo ink. The effect of these factors is the gradual fade to the eventual disappearance of the shading. Permanent makeup is known to creep toward blue or pink tones over time. Ever heard of tattoo remorse?!
The semi-permanent character of microblading makes it even more appealing. Results typically last between 1-3 years depending on the patient’s lifestyle and skin color.
Prior to treatment, patients have a free consultation with the provider to determine if they are the best candidate for the procedure, what to expect and to answer questions in regards to the microblading procedure.
How Long Does Microblading Last?
Tamara Smith, RN, at Nicole Norris MD Medical Spa suggests, “All patients come back in 30 days for the initial touch-up. Then based on each individual, subsequent touch-ups may range from 4 months to 1 year. This helps keep the color looking vibrant and the microstrokes well-defined and natural.”
The procedure is quite safe when utilizing a sterile technique and performed in a reputable, sanitary environment. Patients are required to adhere to post-microblading care instructions, which promote the healing process.
